MUMBAI: A high-level delegation from the Mumbai Aman Committee met with the newly appointed Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), Mr. Manoj Kumar Sharma, on Friday to discuss the security landscape of the city and reinforce their commitment to peace.

The meeting, which served as both an introductory session and a strategic dialogue on community policing, concluded with the delegation felicitating the Joint Commissioner with a traditional shawl to honor his new appointment.

The delegation comprised a broad spectrum of representation from the Muslim community, including prominent social activists, Islamic scholars, religious leaders,  Fareed Shaikh, President Mumbai Aman Committee ,Maulanas.

Speaking to the media following the interaction, Mr. Naeem Shaikh, a senior member of the Mumbai Aman Committee, characterized the meeting as brief but highly productive.

“It was a formal introductory meeting with Mr. Manoj Kumar Sharma,” Shaikh stated. “We reviewed the current situation in Mumbai and discussed matters pertaining to law and order. On behalf of the committee, we assured him of our unwavering support in maintaining communal harmony and peace across the city.”

According to attendees, Joint Commissioner Sharma listened intently to the suggestions and insights offered by the community leaders regarding localized grievance redressal and peace-keeping initiatives. The Joint CP reportedly assured the delegation of the department’s full cooperation and reaffirmed the Mumbai Police’s commitment to ensuring safety and justice for all citizens.
