LAST DATE TO APPLY FOR MINORITY STUDENTS IS JUNE 19, 2026
MUMBAI: The Hajj House Residential Coaching Institute (HHRCI) has officially opened applications for its prestigious, free residential coaching program for the Civil Services (Prelims-cum-Mains) examinations for the academic session 2026–27. This initiative specifically targets aspiring minority students looking to crack India’s toughest competitive exams. The deadline for submitting online applications is June 19, 2026.
Empowering Minorities in Civil Services
The Civil Services represent the backbone of Indian governance, comprising elite cadres like the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and Indian Police Service (IPS). Recognizing the historically low representation of minority communities in these administrative pillars, the Hajj House Mumbai—under the guidance of dedicated experts—has been running this residential coaching program. Over the years, the institute has successfully coached numerous students who have cleared the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and various State Public Service Commission (SPSC) exams.
Program Offerings and Facilities
Selected candidates will receive high-quality guidance and comprehensive resources tailored for both the Preliminary and Main phases of the examination. The HHRCI provides:
-
Free Accommodation: Safe and conducive lodging at the Hajj House in Mumbai.
-
Expert Coaching: Specialized lectures, comprehensive study materials, and rigorous test series.
-
Library and IT Access: 24/7 access to a well-stocked library and internet facilities for extensive research.
Seat Availability and Reservations
There are a total of 100 seats available for the 2026–27 batch. Out of these, 80 seats are explicitly reserved for Muslim minority students, while the remaining 20 seats are allocated for candidates from other recognized minority communities (Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, and Parsis).
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the coaching program, candidates must meet the following parameters as of August 1, 2026:
-
Age Limit: Minimum age of 21 years and maximum age not exceeding 30 years (with standard age relaxations applicable for OBC/SC/ST candidates as per government norms).
-
Educational Qualification: Graduates from any recognized university or those awaiting final year results are eligible to apply.
Entrance Examination & Selection Process
Admission to the residential coaching is highly competitive and will be decided via a multi-stage selection process:
1. Written Examination
The written test will mirror the UPSC pattern and consists of two main sections:
-
Objective Test (Preliminary Pattern): 50 General Studies questions and CSAT-style multiple-choice questions (MCQs) carrying a total of 100 marks. A negative marking scheme of $1/3^{\text{rd}}$ marks will apply for incorrect answers. Candidates must secure at least 33% in the CSAT section to qualify.
-
Subjective Test (Mains Pattern): An essay-writing section worth 100 marks. Candidates will be required to write an essay of 700 to 800 words on one out of four given topics. Additionally, there will be four General Studies descriptive questions worth 50 marks in total.
2. Personal Interview
Candidates who qualify the written test will be shortlisted for a personal interview worth 50 marks. Interviews will be conducted exclusively in Mumbai and Delhi.
Exam Centers: The written entrance test is scheduled to be held simultaneously across multiple cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Patna, and Ranchi.
