Ramadan Special: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Maharashtra Hosts Iftar Party & Dinner for Mediation Professionals in South Mumbai
Journalists Attend Iftar Gathering Organised by Jamaat-e-Islami Maharashtra and Mumbai Metro
Mumbai: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Maharashtra and Mumbai Metro, along with its Public Relations and Media Cell, organised a special Iftar gathering for journalists on the 19th day of the holy month of Ramadan. The organisation has been hosting such Iftar events for decades with the aim of promoting social harmony and addressing misconceptions about Muslims and Islam.
On this occasion, the State Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Maharashtra interacted with journalists and sought their views on attempts by certain groups to fuel Sunni-Shia differences in the context of the recent aggression by Israel and United States against Iran. He emphasised that the discussion should instead focus on the fact that the attack on Iran represents open aggression and an act of terrorism.
Journalists present at the gathering noted that only a very small group is attempting to incite sectarian divisions, and such elements have largely been rejected by the wider Muslim community. They added that Muslims from all sects, along with many justice-loving people around the world, have openly expressed their opposition to the aggression by the United States and Israel.
During the interaction, journalists also expressed concern over recent changes in India’s foreign policy, stating that such shifts could potentially affect the country’s independence, sovereignty, and its global reputation.
The Iftar gathering was attended by journalists from Urdu, Hindi, Marathi, and English media outlets, who broke their fast together in a friendly and cordial atmosphere. Participants appreciated the initiative and expressed hope that such gatherings help encourage positive thinking, strengthen social harmony, and prevent the spread of negative narratives in society.
