Eid – E- Milad Holiday Cancelled in Mumbai on 16 September, Government reschedules on 18 September, reason is here

Maharashtra Government rescheduled Eid -E Milad Holiday  from 16 September to 18 September.The decesion was made following the request of All India Khilafat Committee and Muslim Community leaders and NGOs.

The last day of the Ganpati festival falls on September 17, while Eid-e-Milad is likely to be observed on September 16, As per the Islamic Calendar.

The Maharashtra government on Friday Changed the official Eid-e-Milad holiday in Mumbai from September 16 to September 18.

As per the GR and Notification released by Government of Maharashtra  the decision was taken after the local Muslim community decided to hold its Eid processions on September 18 instead of September 16— to avoid any inconvenience during Anant Chaturdash

 

 

‘we will celebrate our Eid -Milad un -Nabi festival as per our Islamic rituals and moon, Government of Maharashtra changed the holiday date its doesn’t impact on our festive activities because we all Muslim Community will celebrate our Prophet Muhammad birthday day as per Islamic Calendar” Said Mansoor Khan Chairman Sufi Islamic Board

While Speaking with ‘Salaam People .com  over phone Sarfraz Aarzo Chairman All India Khilafat Committee  express his view,” All Muslim Organisations from Maharashtra including Khilafat House Committee already decided to organise Eid -Milad procession on 18 September,Now Government of Maharashtra released its holiday Notification GR on 13 September so we welcome this GR.As we all know 16& 17 September Ganesh chaturthi Visarjan and all Government agencies including police will be busy that’s we already decided on 18 September.”
