FORT KOCHI, KERALA – In a unique blend of cultural heritage and social advocacy, the Sufi Islamic Board (Kerala State) has announced it will host the ‘Kaswa Sufi Night’ on March 29, 2026. The event, set against the historic backdrop of Fort Kochi, aims to use the power of Sufi music to champion the national cause of “Nasha Mukt Yuva” (Drug-Free Youth) as part of the broader “Viksit Bharat 2047” vision.
The program is scheduled to commence at 5:00 PM and is expected to draw music enthusiasts, social activists, and youth leaders from across the state.
A Melody for Change
The Sufi Islamic Board stated that the primary objective of the evening is to provide a platform for spiritual reflection and communal harmony through traditional Sufi music. However, the event carries a heavy social mandate: addressing the rising concern of substance abuse among the youth.
By aligning with the “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan” (Drug-Free India Campaign), the organizers hope to inspire the younger generation to lead healthy, purposeful lives that contribute to the goal of making India a developed nation by the centenary of its independence in 2047.
Cultural Significance
Fort Kochi, known for its multicultural history and artistic soul, was chosen as the venue to reflect the inclusive nature of Sufi philosophy. Organizers believe that the soul-stirring rhythms of Sufi music can serve as a “spiritual detox,” offering the youth a sense of peace and direction that steers them away from the perils of addiction.
“Our goal is to celebrate our rich Sufi traditions while fulfilling our responsibility toward the nation,” a representative from the Sufi Islamic Board Kerala State shared. “A developed India (Viksit Bharat) is only possible if our youth are healthy, empowered, and free from the grip of narcotics.
